About the role:
As a Product Design Intern at Samsara, you will help design features that our customers use every day to run their operations. We’re looking for someone who is excited to shape the experience of our platform across industries such as transportation and logistics, construction, food and beverage, government, and more.

In this role, you will:
- Learn how to conduct research at Samsara, talk to customers, and understand user workflows and critical user journeys
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to identify customer needs, explore design solutions, and deliver value to customers
- Produce well-crafted designs for features that make our customers’ operations more efficient, safe, and sustainable
- Push for high-quality design through a focus on feedback, iteration, and attention to details
- Articulate your perspective and provide a compelling rationale for design decisions
- Have a dedicated design mentor to learn from throughout the internship
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, and Win as a Team)
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and graduating in Spring/Summer of 2026 or Fall/Winter 2026.
- 0-1+ years experience
- A portfolio showcasing your approach to solving problems and your standard for design quality.
- Able to relocate to San Francisco for the summer of 2025.
- Experience in design through your university major, school projects, past internships or externships, or extracurriculars.
- Proficiency in Figma
An ideal candidate also has:
- Effective interaction, visual design, user research, problem-solving, and communication skills
- The ability to prototype ideas to explore and effectively convey design solutions
- A drive to continuously improve yourself, the team, and product experiences
