About the role:
Public Sector Enterprise East is tasked with representing the Samsara brand within the broader Public Sector market, covering State, County/City governments with populations over 100K, higher education and K-12 institutions with more than 13K students in the Eastern US. The Regional Sales Director for this segment will be an experienced and driven sales leader responsible for expanding Samsara’s brand presence and growing its customer base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, be adept at selling across all organizational levels, and have experience leading a high-performing team of Account Executives with a strong focus on accurate forecasting.
This is a remote position based in the Northeastern US. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
In this role, you will:
- Provide impactful coaching and professional development to Account Executives
- Work closely with the executive team to establish performance metrics
- Oversee the coordination of Field Sales Engineers and support teams to ensure alignment with performance goals and consistently meet customer expectations
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 8+ years of technology sales experience
- 5+ years experience directly managing and motivating a quota carrying enterprise field sales team
- Previous experience managing a sales team in the Eastern US
- Public Sector sales experience and understanding of this market’s unique compliance requirements
- Solid understanding of SFDC and accurate forecasting methodology
