About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and talented Content Strategist to join Samsara’s Global Communications Content Team to help bring our stories to life, crafting compelling narratives and developing scalable content programs. This innovative storyteller will help drive brand awareness and build connections with our customers, employees, future employees, partners, and peers. The person in this role has a knack for writing both long- and short-form copy; and they can adapt content for both internal and external audiences across multiple channels and platforms, including various social channels. The person in this role will be data-driven, developing success metrics and using data insights to guide content and channel decisions, and driving forward a cycle of continuous content optimization within our Comms team and with our leaders and partners.
The ideal candidate will be able to balance creative development and operational rigor. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adjusting well to shifting deadlines and priorities. They should be eager to learn and willing to take on different tasks – and above all else be a resourceful, solution-oriented collaborator.
This role is open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin metro, California, Chicago metro, Connecticut, Dallas metro, Denver metro, Houston metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Washington DC metro.

In this role, you will:
- Lead data storytelling for Comms, including identifying story angles and building content programs that position Samsara’s as thought leader in physical operations.
- Build and implement our corporate narrative and bespoke messaging around key Communications programs, including innovation and employer brand. You are an incredible and effective content creator with a strong background in writing, including narrative development and corporate storytelling.
- Support content development for corporate reports like our annual Impact Report.
- Partner with Communications, Marketing, Recruiting, Product, Data Science teams to lead and shape proactive content series and integrated campaigns.
- Partner with other members of the Content Team to optimize stories for impact across our channels. You can prioritize projects and resources and you are comfortable driving all stages of content development.
- Manage approval process under the Senior Director of Content Strategy to ensure all required stakeholders have reviewed and approved projects.
- Interface with vendors, creative agencies, and freelancers.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field.
- 6+ years of professional writing experience.
- 5+ years content strategy experience and in creating content for multichannel programs, including for social.
- Ability to quickly interpret and adapt to feedback from multiple stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work and thrive in both independent and group scenarios.
- Great at managing relationships and a positive attitude.
- Travel required up to 10%.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Journalism background with experience working in a newsroom/media setting.
- Experience building corporate narratives and employer value propositions (EVPs).
- Experience working in tech.
- Experience working in a project management tool like Airtable.
