About the role
The Senior Technical & International Accounting Manager will serve as a key technical accounting resource within the company and collaborate with cross-functional teams, executives, and external auditors. This role also oversees all international statutory reporting and compliance for Dialpad’s global entities and supports external reporting activities.
This is a hybrid position located in the San Ramon, CA office and reports to the Assistant Controller.
What you’ll do
- Oversee the international accounting function and manage relationships with third-party accounting firms.
- Ensure statutory reporting and compliance for Dialpad’s international subsidiaries.
- Participate in month-end close activities, including preparing intercompany journal entries, ensuring
- international accounting close accuracy, and performing complex accounting calculations (e.g., earnings per share).
- Conduct accounting research and draft technical accounting memorandums for significant and complex transactions.
- Monitor US GAAP, SEC, and IFRS updates, assess their impact, and oversee the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Maintain an external reporting calendar and communicate deadlines effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Deal Desk and Sales teams to evaluate customer contract terms and their revenue recognition implications.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly financial statements, including the statement of cash flows.
- Partner with external auditors and respond promptly to audit requests.
- Execute SOX controls and procedures over financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Assist in preparing quarterly financial presentations for the Audit Committee.
- Take on special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Skills you’ll bring
- Experience: 8+ years of combined experience in Big 4 public accounting and industry roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and IFRS.
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to research and document accounting guidance for complex transactions.
- Global Accounting: Experience with international accounting and cost-plus entity structures.
- Communication: Strong relationship management and communication skills across all organizational levels.
