About the role:
Samsara is hiring a Regional Demand & Supply Planner to oversee the hardware planning process. The Demand & Supply Planner will manage the collaborative planning process by working with Sales, Sales Operations, Product, Product Operations, Strategic Finance, Supply Chain, and Business Operations teams, and provide technical data analysis to inform real-time decision-making. As an experienced member on the team, you will drive planning strategy, build relationships, and deliver to the business OKRs. This is a highly visible role that offers an opportunity to make business-critical decisions that will improve customer service levels while minimizing inventory costs.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Product, and business unit leadership to establish an executable demand & supply plan that supports the company’s strategic direction in the Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment process.
- Deliver timely, accurate forecasts to achieve company objectives on revenue and cost with respect to partnerships and channel sales.
- Build cross-functional partnerships to understand activities in other parts of the business and how they may impact demand & supply forecasts.
- Communicate to leadership regarding the health of demand & supply, changes in business trends, and risks & opportunities to the operating plan.
- Provide input to developing planning strategies on existing products, new product transitions, and product EOL.
- Analyze, communicate, and monitor the impacts of demand changes to the Supply Chain and Operations teams.
- Provide accountability to the planning processes by reporting performance metrics, improvements, and monitoring historical performance.
- Evolve operating procedures for planning processes and business systems. Proactively drive operational improvements.
- Drive appropriate inventory to achieve company objectives on revenue and cost based on the demand plan.
- Provide recommendations on optimal logistics strategy taking into account demand needs, transit time, and logistics costs.
- Monitor supplier performance to requested targets by quarter as well as yield rates and provide feedback on QBRs.
- Analyze Samsara and supplier PO issuance to lead time, recommending preventive or corrective action where necessary to optimize for cost and rate of replenishment.
- Report performance to supply targets and communicate inventory risks (excess and shortage).
- As needed, recommend constrained inventory guidance based on company objectives for revenue prioritization, cost minimization, and customer experience.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
- 8+ years (or 6+ with Masters) of combined experience in consulting and supply chain planning, demand planning, or business planning.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to clearly lay out assumptions, risks, and opportunities in logical models.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize information in a digestible format for a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Attention to detail while never losing sight of the big picture.
- A proactive, positive approach to problem solving.
- Deals with ambiguity, changing priorities and business volatility.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, Salesforce, Tableau, Planning Systems (e.g. Adaptive)
An ideal candidate also has:
- MBA
- Programming capabilities (SQL, Python)
- Electronics manufacturing experience
