Build and explain AI-first robotics projects and data pipelines
At Rerun, we’re building a new multimodal data stack for robotics and spatial AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by these technologies, and we're building the data infrastructure and tools that enable it to happen. Rerun’s open source project focuses on visualizing and handling multimodal logs and is already loved by some of the best teams in the world.
We’re looking for a curious and passionate Robotics ML Engineer who loves to teach, and has a practical end-to-end understanding of what it takes to ship ML-heavy products to the physical world. Your mission will be to make Rerun better for teams building AI-first robotics products.
What you'll work on
Building examples and reference projects that use both Rerun's open source and commercial data infrastructure for embodied AI use cases. For example:
Data pipelines for robotics imitation learning
Data cleaning workflows
End-to-end physical robot to learned behavior setup
Simulation for evaluation and data generation
Using those projects as a basis for creating blogs, tutorials, videos, and other educational materials to help our customers and community
Interacting with customers and the community to learn how to best improve projects and educational materials
Use all the above to feed back learnings into the core Rerun product, sometimes by directly fixing things yourself
We'd love it if you have
An ownership mindset - we're all doing this together!
A helpful attitude and a curious mind
A track record of cool projects and public communication (blog, youtube, great READMEs)
Broad enough knowledge of ML, 3D geometry, robotics and related fields to build useful projects and communicate effectively with customers and the community
Experience with MLOps and the surrounding systems needed to get data from a robot to GPUs (e.g. Linux, Ray, file formats, Pytorch dataloaders, NVIDIA DALI)
Strong Python skills, and basic skills in C++ or Rust.
