How You'll Make Impact: - The Principal Compensation Consultant plays an important role in ensuring that our People Experience (PX) team, Talent Experience (TX) team and people leaders are supported to make robust, data led compensation decisions.
- You will be responsible for developing and implementing Xero’s reward programs. They will ensure programs align with Xero’s strategy and support attraction, motivation and retention of key talent.
What You'll Do: - Compensation strategy and policy:
- Provide expertise in compensation strategy, policy and frameworks appropriate for the technology industry, particularly SaaS.
- Support the design of compensation policies that support the attraction, retention and motivation of key talent, including incentive plans and reward programs.
- Technical leadership:Provide technical leadership and support to other members of the Reward teamLead projects as and when requiredSubject matter expertise and advice:Provide proactive support to a portfolio of people leaders and individual contributors, developing strong relationships with the Executive Team to influence and support themSupport PX and TX teams in day to day compensation issuesAdvise people leaders on interpretation and application of compensation structures
- Job sizing and benchmarking: Benchmark roles using a consistent and systematic approachUpdate and evolve the compensation structureComplete complex analysis and reporting to support decision makingCompensation review and incentive payments:Take a lead role in management of the Annual Salary Review (ASR), Interim Salary Review (ISR), and Short Term Incentive (STI) plansHelp design and review incentive plans such as short-term incentives, long-term incentives, sales incentives, sign on bonus, retention and project related incentives.
- Rewards and benefits programs: Manage the day to day aspects of rewards programs, ensuring they are kept up to dateManage relationships with consultancies/vendors on a day to day basisSupport the review and operationalization of benefit programs.
- Analysis and evaluation: Undertake analysis of a variety of reward related projects/initiatives, such as gender pay equity and market data analysis. Continually update and evolve our approach
What Success Looks Like: - Helping drive Xero’s reward strategy and ensuring programs support our global business goals and objectives.
- Highly specialized knowledge of complex compensation information and subjects on a global scale.
- Works independently to deliver projects, provides education to the business on compensation.
- Regularly collaborates with senior management and executives providing specialist adviceIdentifies key analysis requirements, completes complex analysis with in-depth evaluation and interpretation. Delivers findings and key conclusions, as well as proposed recommendations.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage projects alone, gaining key inputs from SMEs.
- Effectively ensure stakeholders remain well informed. Identifies and resolves issues.
- Communicates effectively, making complex ideas understandable, escalating sparingly and when necessaryExperience in the technology industry is essential and in SaaS orgs preferred.
- Undergraduate and/or Master's Degree preferably in Human Resources, Management or similarSignificant experience in global compensation, benefits and rewards programs.
- Preferably with a company that has experienced intense growthExperience managing multiple global stakeholders at senior levelsProject management and excellent communication skillsStrong background in HCM systems (Workday an advantage)
