We are seeking a Manager to join our Financial and Sustainability Reporting team within Technical Accounting. The Technical Accounting team assesses the Company’s most complex accounting and reporting matters.
In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Manager to develop, implement, and manage Spotify's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. You will help to ensure the integrity, validity, and comparability of ESG data disclosed under emerging regulations.

What You'll Do - Help to develop and manage a comprehensive project plan for new ESG reporting requirements, identifying gaps and driving accountability
- Facilitate the compilation of consistent, reliable, and comparable ESG disclosures as required by various regulations, including but not limited to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and California SB 253 & 261
- Support the establishment and maintenance of an ESG control framework and governance in collaboration with Internal Audit & Risk
- Assist with the work to ensure ESG data's audit-readiness, including documentation of its completeness and accuracy
- Support external reviews and assurance engagements for ESG reports and disclosures
- Analyze accounting and financial reporting considerations for complex topics with a focus on ESG; the team also works on debt and equity transactions, leasing, mergers and acquisitions, segment reporting, among others
- Support ad hoc and recurring financial reporting matters
Who You Are - At least 5 years of experience in public accounting
- Working experience with SEC registered companies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and an actively licensed CPA
- Excellent analytical skills including comfort working with large, complex data sets
- Demonstrated knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP and SEC reporting
- Experience applying know-how of technical accounting and financial reporting standards
- Ability to research these matters and prepare well-written memoranda and presentations
- Brings a diligent and hands-on style and the capacity to prioritize and deliver results in a fast moving company with a wide variety of critical initiatives
- Have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Experience in ESG reporting, measurement, and performance evaluation is advantageous
- Proficiency working with automated reporting tools (i.e., NetSuite/ Adaptive, Workday Financials, etc.) is a plus
- A demeanor that champions teamwork, but also the ability to get the job done on your own when necessary
Where You'll Be - Hybrid role based in our New York offices (average 2 to 3 days a week required)

The United States base range for this position is $109,074-$155,820, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
