About the team
Dialpad’s Hardware Team is a cross-functional team that is responsible for seamlessly integrating Dialpad’s VoIP Cloud Platform and Video Conferencing solutions into 3rd party hardware solutions.
Dialpad’s Hardware team is uniquely positioned in both old and new technologies. Breathing new life into Deskphones to work seamlessly on a modern Cloud Platform or researching the cutting edge in Video Conferencing Hardware.
These hardware solutions are an entry point into Dialpad’s ecosystem, which requires intimate knowledge and collaboration with our neighboring product and telephony teams to bring a rich modern experience to our Hardware users.
Your role
As a Hardware Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining features to enhance customers’ day-to-day communication experience.You’ll work closely with customers and customer facing teams to provide industry leading calling workflows. On this team, you’ll be participating in an effort to combine traditional hardware solutions with Dialpad’s cutting edge cloud communication platform. You’ll be contributing directly to high-impact projects which drive critical business strategies.
This position reports to the Hardware Engineering Manager, and will be based in our Buenos Aires office.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain software solutions and integrations that interface with VoIP devices, including IP Phones, SIP adapters, ATA adapters and DECT base stations.
- Design and implement features and improvements for device management, provisioning, activation, and control in the UI.
- Troubleshoot production/customer related issues with devices.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure the robustness of the devices integration management software.
- Maintain code quality by reviewing peers’ code.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand the requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Work closely with QA through the entire lifecycle of a feature.
- Work on self development and continuous self improvement to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies in the field.
Skills you’ll bring (Must Have)
- 2-4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with Python or other relevant structured language.
- Experience working with both Front End and Back End technologies.
- Experience working with Databases.
- Expertise with Unit Testing.
- Familiarity with Networking protocols (TCP, UDP).
- Experience with RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
Nice to have
- Experience with Python, Javascript and Vue.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP and AWS).
- Experience with VoIP.
- Understanding of low-level networking (SIP, TCP, UDP).
- Experience working with Support Teams (customer agents).
