Design at hyperexponential
We are on a journey to reimagine our end-to-end platform experience—creating a unified design language that shapes how users interact with the hyperexponential platform and instilling an experience-first mindset across the technology organization.
This is a rare opportunity to help create the foundations of hyperexponential’s emerging design function and shape the direction of our product, all while working in an autonomous and high-trust environment.
To get there, we’re building a world-class Product Design team and seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Designer to join our team.
Your Mission
As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a key role in leading the development of our design language, as well as designing innovative and scalable solutions that address our users’ needs in support of our company’s long-term vision.
You will partner closely with the Head of Design, as well as with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions and enhancements to our platform experience.
Your key responsibilities include:
Reimagine the platform experience:
Contribute to a unified design language and system that ensures consistency across the platform while adapting to the diverse needs of our users.
Create high-quality design assets (wireframes, prototypes, final designs) with meticulous attention to detail and exceptional craft skills.
Conduct deep user research to understand pain points and opportunities, incorporating insights into all aspects of the design process, from concept to execution.
Drive design strategy and execution:
Partner with cross-functional teams (product managers, engineers, etc.) to align on product vision and define the user experience.
Lead design projects that improve key user journeys and simplify complex workflows for our diverse user base.
Influence product discovery, taking ideas from concept to testing and iterating rapidly to ensure product-market fit.
Shape the design culture at hx:
Foster collaboration between design, engineering, and product teams to create a seamless workflow and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Champion a design-led, experience-driven culture, ensuring user-centric thinking is embedded within your team.
Experience and Skills
We are more focused on your impact and achievements than the number of years you’ve worked.
You’ll need:
Proven experience as a Product Designer, ideally designing for complex products
Advanced craft skills across the design spectrum, with a portfolio that demonstrates a broad skillset across areas like UX, UI, and interaction design
A keen eye for detail and a passion for UI design
Experience in contributing to design systems
Expert Figma skills relating to design systems and prototyping
Strong product instincts, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional partners and balance user needs with business goals
Working knowledge of front-end development frameworks (React, HTML, CSS) that enable you to collaborate with technical teams on product execution
Most importantly, a proactive, self-starting attitude, able to thrive with autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Bonus points for:
Experience with animation tools (e.g., Spline) or data visualization libraries
Experience with low-code/no-code platforms or design systems in technical domains
Contributions to the design community through talks, blogs, or open-source projects

A Note from Head of Design, Mark Boyes-Smith:
“Design is in its infancy at hx, and the potential for impact is enormous—not only through our ability to create and inspire but also through our power to advocate for an experience-first approach to building great products. I left my role as Head of Design at Miro to join hx as the founding designer, tasked with building the design function from scratch. It was a big move, but what gave me confidence was the energy and excitement from my product and engineering partners for design and the incredible opportunities ahead.
Now, I’m looking for talented designers to join me as we pool our collective knowledge and experience to build our dream design team. At hx, we focus on getting things done. We value collaboration over bureaucracy, and we keep processes light to give ourselves the freedom to create and deliver quickly. It’s about maintaining an environment where everyone can take ownership, act decisively, and make real impact without getting bogged down.
Cards on the table—you would be joining a nimble design team, where we all support each other and wear many hats. If you’ve been searching for a hands-on, dynamic role with growth opportunities, where you can flex your creative muscles and make meaningful contributions, this could be the challenge you’ve been waiting for… Let’s talk.”
