About the team
The Telephony Platform team maintains a complex set of APIs and microservices that provide the backbone for real-time communication in our products. On the Telephony QA team, you play an essential role in testing the complex systems that support our products. We work cross-functionally and across projects, collaborating closely with developers and product managers to positively impact the quality, reliability, and performance of the platform.
Your role
Dialpad’s QA Engineer is a skilled technical tester with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. A passionate system thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will drive regression testing, work with various product and telephony teams, and dig deep into the various layers of the platform to look for bugs.
This position reports to our Quality Engineering Manager in the USA and will be based in our Buenos Aires, Arg office.
What you’ll do
- Execute manual and automated regression test suites
- Write new test cases for new and existing features
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand business and feature requirements.
- Independently analyze test results and investigate failures to identify potential root causes and provide detailed reports.
- Publish and communicate test results and progress.
- Become an expert on the platform and a reliable reference to other teams.
- Develop and execute load testing against a variety of systems.
- Work on new features by participating in software design discussions and developing and executing a comprehensive test strategy.
- Advocate for doing the right thing even if it’s difficult.
Skills you’ll bring
- 3+ years of software testing experience for a complex cloud product.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Technical curiosity (what happens when or how does this work).
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting software configuration problems.
- Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels.
- Direct experience applying testing methodologies, including regression, integration, load, or performance testing.
- Excellent people skills as you'll work with other teams in different geographies.
- Experience in testing REST services is a plus.
- Relevant experience working with RTP or SIP services is helpful.
- Structured coding language (Python, Java, etc) experience is a plus.
