Our Sales Development organization plays a pivotal role at Intercom, acting as both a talent incubator and a key driver of revenue. We connect with new Small Business and Mid-Market customers across EMEA, guiding them through the initial stages of their journey with us. The team also serves as a launchpad for future roles within our Go-to-Market organization.
In this high-impact role, you will manage and develop a team of Business Development Representatives covering the EMEA market. Collaborating closely with Sales and cross-functional leaders, you will design and implement strategies to generate pipeline and achieve revenue goals.
What will I be doing?
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of outbound Business Development Reps to drive performance and professional growth.
- Facilitate training and development efforts to boost team proficiency in overcoming objections, refining cold calling strategies, and enhancing product and industry expertise.
- Collaborate closely with sales executives, enablement, marketing, and operations to shape the future of outbound at Intercom.
- Utilize a data-focused approach to ensure accurate forecasting, effective team management, and a strong pipeline to support Sales teams.
- Contribute to the overall vision and strategy of the global Sales Development organization.
- Optimize sales processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in prospecting, outreach, and follow-up activities.
- Champion and drive global initiatives within the Sales Development Organization to standardize best practices, enhance collaboration, and optimize performance across all regions.
What skills do I need?
- Minimum 2 years of people management experience.
- 7+ years sales experience.
- 2+ years experience in closing role, with a proven track record of consistently achieving quota.
- Experience in outbound prospecting.
- A natural mentor and coach with a focus on developing others.
- Experience managing complex internal ecosystems and building strong partnerships across teams.
- Ability to analyze sales metrics, trends, and performance data to identify patterns and insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
- Ability to implement change initiatives while maintaining team morale, securing buy-in, and maintaining focus during periods of transformation.
Bonus skills & attributes
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and/or Outreach.
- Experience in managing sales development teams.
- Proficiency in English and an additional European language is a plus.
