The Role:
The mission of the Gather Platform Team is to gather, enrich and make useful the vast quantities of data that powers CommerceIQ products. We currently gather 60 million pages per day from around 900 retailers worldwide, and we’re continually growing.
We’re looking for a skilled senior software engineer to join the squad to help scale our data-gathering platform to meet the ever-increasing need of our rapidly growing customer-base.
What You'll Do:
- Apply your strong engineering skills to the development of a flexible and highly-scalable data gathering platform.
- Produce high quality code (with tests) in alignment with the Team’s coding standards and design practices.
- Break down tasks & Time estimation.
- Own your changes from development to production and beyond.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Mentor and support junior members of the squad; assist with code reviews and other knowledge sharing activities.
- Play an active role in the growth and development of Gather Platform; explore and champion new techniques, technologies and tools.

Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge of web data gathering and its challenges.
- Experience of building services in the cloud, especially with Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- Experience of containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience of building infrastructure as code, especially with Terraform.
- Data analysis and SQL skills.
- Experience with TypeScript.
